My Dorm/Angel-Dale House

yeah thats right, im writing a blog entry about my dorm...i kinda lost track of what i was gonna write about next, so im writing about where i stayed the whole time i was in kentucky...hutton hall at the university of the cumberlands:

this is where we all converged before breakfast the whole week...its pretty awesome isnt it?? ur probably like "freak" but i cant really think of anything else 2 say...so here r some pictures:

sorry i dont really have any pictures from ground level...i was on the 2nd floor and i took advantage of the height 2 get some aerial shots...the last shot up there is of the vending room...boring, right?? anyway, here r some pictures of my actual dorm room:

u just love how different my side of the room is from my roommates, dont u?? of course...the hawk nelson poster was megans idea actually...i brought the poster and was all "im gonna hang it up on my side", but she was like "well then i wont get 2 look at daniel biro as i fall asleep" so we put it on the ceiling between our beds...so yeah...ur probably also wondering y we brought jaren on our trip...well we couldnt just leave him home!! he has 2 change the world!! so thats y jaren came w/ us...anyway, when we werent at the dorm or the saddle club (upcoming entry will explain more about saddle club in detail), we were at the angel-dale house...

this is where we did our daily/nightly devotions...where we met up w/ the am team in the mornings after breakfast, then we would all head out 2 the saddle club...yup...so im gonna end this entry now...

Cumberland Falls

ok, so i took a break for a bit but ive still got a lot 2 write about k-town...like the waterfall, for instance...eagle falls (a smaller waterfall near cumberland falls) hold sentimental value for me, since last year i was baptised there...heres a very bad picture of it:

yeah, i hate this picture, but u get the point right?? so anyway, this yeah we went back 2 the falls...the hike up there was a lot easier than i remembered, but it was still brutal!! so anyway, heres a video of what i saw there...

pretty, huh?? yeah i know...but yeah, the only sad part was that josh (from a previous entry) didnt bring his cape this year...i would post a picture of it, but unfortunately i had a very suckish disposable camera last year and my picture of it was all dark so u cant even see anything...but i KNOW somebodys got a picture of it...whatever...this year josh just hopped around on rocks:

supposedly this is how he hurt his heel, but we all know he fell in the shower...of course, he could have fallen BECAUSE of his bad heel...whatever...he wasnt limping until the night after the falls...when he fell...u know what?? im gonna drop this subject before i make myself sound even more like an idiot...so anyway, we (me, megan, brittany, shawna, and steven i believe) were just arriving at the falls when we hear nyoka (stevens "girlfriend"), her brother brenton, and his friend zack (all in our 5th and 6th grade class)...u shoulda seen stevens face...he loves nyoka...its always sad 2 watch them say goodbye at the end of the week...but yeah so it turns out they got 2 come 2 the falls 2...i guess they must have come before us 2 get there that far ahead of us...idk, so yeah we had fun w/ brenton, zack, and nyoka:

but yeah...the climb back down from the falls is always harder than the one 2 get up there cuz 2 get there u go up a little ways, then down like 5 flights of stairs...ok do more than that, but whatever...and on the way back u gotta climb back up all those stairs, a lot of which r just rocks on top of each other...its murder getting back from the falls!! but somehow i made it w/ less difficulty than i had the year before...plus, i didnt fall this year...last year i fell and got the ginormous shirt i was wearing (it went past my knees!!) all covered in this nasty orange mud...it was quite sad, so i didnt wear my huge shirt again...but that is so far away from the subject its not even worth mentioning so idk why i did...well i guess i will close this entry w/ some very pretty pictures of eagle and cumberland falls...

K-Town Kids

megan and i got 2 work with this insanely awesome group of kids on our mission trip this year: the fifth and sixth graders...they rock!! WAAAAAAAAAAAY better than my experiences last year w/ the preschool/kindergartners...idk if i even spelled that right and i dont really care right now cuz theres so much 2 write...like over the week we (the teachers) had the privledge as a team 2 lead 2 girls 2 Christ, kaitlyn and kaitlyn (aka bubbles)...ok, so the whole "as a team" thing is debateable (did i spell that right??) but its really about God, isnt it?? and the kids, of course!! but yeah, those girls were awesome, and of course the rest of the kids were 2...like brenton, zack, nyoka, savannah, brody (though he didnt like 2 show up), jerry (he wanted 2 stay w/ the youth), jed (what happened 2 him??), hollie, della, and dakota...im pretty sure im forgetting someone...those guys were the coolest!!

wait!! whos that kid!!?? i cant remember, but its cool...so yeah, i also got 2 work w/ 2...more experienced...teachers...thats all im gonna say about their personatities right now cuz im trying 2 keep this blog fun...but yeah i got 2 work with cory (mentioned in last entry) and stephanie...we may have had some differences throughout the week but its cool now...well, cool enough since we dont really talk 2 each other and they're never at church...but yeah...and of course megan was in our group 2...but yeah, i could say so much more about the kids but i think im gonna take a break 4 right now...this one entry by itself took me 20 minutes 2 write!! so yeah...peace

K-Town Mission Trip

ok so canadatown is spelled w/ a c, but the k can be for kentucky, right?? whatever, last week (actually, it was the week before...shh) was my youth group's mission trip 2 canadatown, ky...i saw some pretty weird things there 2...example:

yeah...its a dude...massaging another dude's shoulders...the one sitting down is cory, and the one massaging cory's shoulders, im sad 2 say, is steven...dont they make a cute couple?? well im sorry cory, but it looks like stevens been cheating on you...

with phil...poor cory...but no, that doesnt even BEGIN 2 describe all of the strange and freaky stuff i saw on this mission trip!! like josh here, for instance:

and yes, in that last one, he WAS laying on a poor child, chris...this was in the vans on the way back from kentucky...of course, the ride back wasnt all fun and games...an unnamed man decided he was going 2 talk about another unnamed man behind said mans back, which upset most of us...and the ones who werent upset by that were upset about how the first man decided 2 attack another 4 younger guys about major decisions they had made during the week...i wont get into detail, but lets just say there was a lot of crying (on my part, too...shocking, i know) and one person even got cussed out...but megan and i learned a new term for freaking out about something: flip poop...im not entirely sure what 2 make of that, but whatever...back 2 the GOOD times we had on the trip!! actually, u know what?? i think im gonna have a seperate blog entry for each subject since there r way 2 many pictures for one entry...so im gonna stop this one now and start a new one...

Fox Run, Socks, and Dumb Chargers

today was a fun day...sorta...ok not really...but i DID get my Fox Run cd in the mail after one-and-a-half torturous days of uneventful waiting!! is torturous even a word?? did i spell it right?? oh well...i was amazed 2 find that the last song on the album, "failure is not the end", reminded me of edward cullen and bella swan from my favorite book series, twilight!! ive shared this revelation with megan but she cant exactly agree because A) she hasnt heard the song yet and B) she is reminded of them by "the last night" by skillet...whatever, that song does kinda relate but im still hooked on the fox run song...by the way, fox run is a sideband of jonathan steingard, the very talented guitarist for hawk nelson...he ROCKS!! haha so yeah...ive been packing all day for my upcoming mission trip to kentucky and this little pile of socks keeps getting in the way...every time i move them they end up right where i dont want them...well, wherever im gonna be going next i should say...it bugs me cuz i dont even like socks...socks suck!! but thats not even the worst of my problems...see, my phone chargers (all 2 of them) dont work anymore...ill plug one in and it wont work, so ill try the other one and it wont work either!! it is killing me!! im gonna fight my chargers!! so yeah, just thought id throw that out there...

Canada Cake Fiasco

ok, so Megan and i decided 2 make a cake right?? well it wasnt our best idea...see, we made this cake that was supposed 2 look like the Canadian flag, but it turns out that frosting doesnt always wanna cooperate and it turned out looking like this:

looks kinda like a pink shamrock, eh?? exactly...but it wasn't just the frosting that was causing problems...we also r incompetent bakers...and we used WAY 2 much flour...it was nasty...here r some videos of Megan's brother, Ned, and his friend, Ryan (our guinea pigs), taking the first bites:

as u can see, we r totally unable 2 bake anything that isn't capable of causing harm 2 humans...and Megan wonders why i didn't eat any...oh well, if they die any time soon ill just blame it all on Megan as usual...well, that's pretty much all i have 2 say right now, except that i should have my permit by tomorrow if i take the safety course thing online tomorrow...see, i just now figured out how 2 take it...i know, im lazy but i cant honestly help it!! its in my nature 2 procrastinate!! oh well, id rather get my permit a few weeks late than die from food poisoning...sorry, just throwing that out there...

Boredom

oh my snap im so bored right now...i should have never finished the Twilight series (probably my new favorite series) cuz now i have nothing to do...i never realized how theres never anything on tv until last night!! plus ive gotten into the habit of staying up till well past any respectable bed times, about 1am being my earliest and 8:30am being the latest...but hey i can totally justify that one!! see, i had just started reading Twilight and i was way beyond hooked after like the first chapter, so of COURSE i couldnt just stop reading it!! plus my bed (we were camping at the time) was SOOOOOO HARD!! i had already woken up practically dead the day before cuz my back felt like it would snap if i bent it even a quarter of an inch...it was horrible...i talked 2 Megan a lot just 2 tell her how suckish my weekend was turning out 2 be...oh well, i cant wait until this Saturday!! we're gonna be leaving on a week-long mission trip to Williamsburg, KY...its gonna be GREAT!! just the van-rides up there r hilarious!! plus we're gonna be ministering 2 all of the underprivileged kids up there...ah fun times...it should be quite awesome...especially now that we have Jaren!! yay!!
